Baby Shower Decorations - Pretty as a
Picture
What helps to set
a mood for the party and helps enhance the baby shower's
overall theme? Baby shower decorations.
The party
organizer can bring a personal touch to the decor and tie
a theme together by using bits and pieces of party favors
and additional elements.
Following are
several tips on enhancing your shower theme by the use of
baby shower decorations.
Pastel pink or
blue were colors for baby shower themes, traditionally.
These colors usually would their way to the baby shower
decorations.
But these days,
anything goes. Some party planners opt for brigher
primary colors like blue, yellow and red, even though
some will stand by the tried and true pink and blue. If
the expecting mother has a favorite color, it could be
used instead. If orange is what she loves, go for it! To
find out the guest of honor's preferred color, simply ask
friends and family.
Simple and even better, practical are the best way to describe
baby shower decorations that are perfect.
Items that can be
used as decorations and gifts or party favors are the
most practical way to get double-duty from the same
amount of money. A great balloon
anchor is unopened baby food jars. After the shower they
can be given to the mom-to-be. Scented candles
create a mood as baby shower decorations, they can be
given as shower favors as the guests leave the party to
go home.
A baby gift
clothesline to decorate the chair of the guest-of honor
is another practical idea. Attach one end of
the clothesline to the chair and use baby clothes,
bibs, booties, baby blankets, hooded towels and other
needed necessities to decorate the line. Colored
clothes pins can be used to add brightness or to match a
color theme. Be sure to inform the guests to bring an
item to adorn the baby clothesline
too.

Another part of
the baby shower decorations can be the gift display. An
open umbrella above the gift table with decorations and
streamers look nice. A baby's bassinet
set up in the corner of the room with tulle hung from the
ceiling and draped flowed around the bassinet makes a
show-stopping centerpiece when the gifts fill
it. Tulle, which is a reasonably priced
fabric can be purchased at any fabric store. If a
bassinet is not available, simply use a larger gift the
expectant mother will receive instead. The baby memory
book will have a lovely photo if this baby shower
decoration is implemented.
A centerpiece that
is edible can also become an important part of the
decorations. A watermelon
carved into the shape of a baby carriage can be used as
the table centerpiece. Place the
watermelon lengthwise, and scoop out the inside after
cutting one quarter out. Around the canopy top, carve a
zigzag edge. Refill the watermelon with other types of
sliced up fruit. Make the centerpiece look frilly by
decorating around the edge with ribbon. Food presentation
can be part of the baby shower decorations as well as
part of the theme.
If you are in
charge of all events and doing all of the work
yourself, it can be extremely stressful to plan a baby
shower. Use what you have on hand, keep your baby shower
decorations simple and don't hesitate to ask the
other guests for extra
assistance. The baby shower
decorations can be set up the night before if
possible. You will have a much better chance of enjoying
the shower with everyone else, if you can get most of the
work completed before the event.
